Technique

A lot of people come up to me whenever I am practicing before or after class and ask if they can try. They all think that death gripping the stick and slamming it on the drum or practice pad is the way you play. But there is actual a very delicate technique that takes years of practice to perfect. When I am playing, my hands are extremely relaxed, the stick could be pulled out of my hand at any time with little resistance. The technique for playing drums differs from player to player depending on the way that they practice. I could walk up to anyone that I know playing and know who it is just by looking at their hands.
