Back in the first wars of history they didn't have the fancy communication equipment that we have today, so they used drums to communicate to the soldiers on the field during battle. I think this is a great idea because drums can be heard for many miles and with the different beats they used could all be different messages. Its a very smart concept and I'm glad that they used it because without it there would be no modern drumlines as we have today.
